I could care less if Maytag responds as I have already advised all my family and friends to avoid Maytag products. After spending over $1200 to buy this refrigerator it took 6 months for the ice maker to failed, and it needed a control board replaced. Maytag had a great reputation; however, in the past 5 years their products are worthless. I also have a Maytag dishwasher which failed and was stuck on cancel with a flashing light. The dishwasher panel needs to be replaced and I have just decided to replace both of these products with a different brand.

In order to get a half decent wash performance from this machine, fill the machine only 1/4 full. Even using the recommended manual, I was very dissatisfied with the way my clothes looked after washing them with this machine. While I have been unhappy with the performance of this machine since purchasing it. What motivated me to leave this review is when my pants had the same sand debris on them after the wash as they had before the wash. I will be looking for a new machine this weekend. I purchased both a Maytag Neptune washer and dryer in 2007. This is without a doubt one of the biggest mistake I have made. I have had the dryer drum and rollers replaced and the washer will no longer run. It is going to cost me hundreds of dollars to repair. To think I bought these units for 2 reasons: 1. that Maytag are the dependability people, but its not! and 2. Energy efficiency. It is not too efficient when they are broken more than they work. The worst was when the repairman told me that I had purchased the worst product on the market. These units are in short, garbage! I will never buy another Maytag Product!

I purchased high end Maytag washer, dryer, dishwasher and microwave in May 2010. On Saturday 4/25/14, the Maytag Microwave stopped heating. The fan runs, the panel, display, lights, clock, and tray all work. It just doesnt cook. The Microwave was installed in June of 2010. Not even 4 years old. I have tried to troubleshoot via the instructions that came with the microwave, i.e. Check the demo mode is not on. Dont know why after 3 yrs it would be, but checked it. No help. Pulled the plug out and replaced; turned breaker on and off; checked to see if its was locked. Nothing. I then checked the door and I found that the plastic inside panel on the latching side of the door is pulling away from the door itself, which is part of the locking system. The magnetron shouldnt work if the door system isnt closing properly. The latch system is what is causing the door to pull apart. I am wondering now how much microwave exposure my family has been getting from a malfunctioning door? I have had a Microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator made by Maytag in the past. The refrigerator is 14 yrs old and still works fine. The microwave and dishwasher were at least 10 yrs old when I replaced them with the new Maytags I have now. Here is the problem. Maytag is not Maytag Corp. anymore. Whirlpool Corp now owns the Maytag brand. Prior to the old Maytags I had, I had GE fridge which was junk, and Whirlpool, dishwasher, stove and microwave. They were also junk. I swore I would never buy Whirlpool products again. Surprise.

If you are thinking of buying a Maytag appliance, dont, unless you like to throw away your money. I couldnt believe when I looked up Consumer Reviews on Maytag appliances tonight that I would find only 1 out of 5 stars, and read all the terrible reviews written by angry consumers. Maytag wall oven Model# MEW7530AB01 - We ordered this oven from Home Depot on Aug. 28/13. It was delivered on Sept.7/13. After a self clean cycle, the oven failed on Sept. 24/13. It was repaired on Oct. 23/13. Parts come from U.S. Im in Canada. Part # W10545255. It hadnt cleaned completely so I used the self clean mode again on Oct. 24/13. Oven failed. Fixed again on Nov. 15/13. Same part. Tested self clean again. Oven failed. Repairman fixed a different part. Thermostat #4449751. Oven still not working, had to order the front fuse again. Part # W10545255. Fixed Nov.19/13. Failed again Nov. 19/13. After not having a working oven for so long, Maytag finally agreed to send a new one. It arrived Dec.5/13. Tried cleaning cycle just to make sure. Oven failed. Same part. Called Maytag, told them I just wanted my money back. They refused. They would only repair. I agreed to have a repairman from another company come out. I told Maytag what part it was. They sent the repairman out on Dec. 19/13 with the wrong part. I called Home Depot a second time. I had called them after I talked to Maytag. This time Home Depot said they would take back the oven once it was repaired and I could have a store credit towards another brand. The repairman fixed the oven on Jan.9/14. Home Depot picked up the oven and replaced it with a GE and I love it.The part failing is a fuse in the top of the oven right at the front. Both repairman noted that a lot of heat is in this area during a self clean. When two ovens are having the same problem, I come to the conclusion that it is a design flaw and should be recalled. I only talked to one person at Maytag who was polite on the phone. That was the woman that got me the new oven. Everyone else was rude and hostile. I was even asked why I would clean a new oven. My experience was not a pleasant one at all. I wont be buying any products made buy the Whirlpool Corp. again.

I have been very disappointed with the 2017 model of Maytag washer and dryer as the washer does not clean the clothes as it should. There is the inner part taken out with no agitator and I believe that is the reason that the clothes comes out not white or cleans as I am use to it being before with my other machines. I think they need to reinstall the agitator to clean the clothing thoroughly. The dryer takes longer to dry the clothing and it uses more hydro which cost a lot more monthly for us to have to pay out. I will never purchase another washer and dryer as this in the future.

They stick out above the water at least a few inches!!! How can anything get clean if no water is touching it! I even add water into the machine at the beginning with jugs of water just to cover the clothes... the machine automatically gets rid of that extra water and when the wash cycle comes on again the clothes are not submerged! I paid A LOT of money for this awful machine and Maytag needs to do something about it! And, yes there is a sticky gummy substance on all the dark clothes! I even put clothes in the washer with a dirt spot on it purposely and the spot is always there when the wash is done. Nothing gets clean! DO NOT BUY this machine... you will be very sorry!!!

I clean with affresh when light comes on, leave the top open, etc. I have tried cleaning it with baking soda and vinegar poured down the detergent opening. Water does not drain from the bleach or softener openings. I have resorted to using baking soda in every single wash and adding an extra rinse to keep my clothes from smelling. The dryer is fine its the washing machine that does not perform like the old machines. Whoever came up with the bright idea of saving water by cutting down the volume in your machine to about 6 inches for a good size load probably have never used a washing machine in their life. It does not get your clothes clean and does not get the soap out of a clothing to my satisfaction. Who made this suggestion? My ice maker literally takes 3 days to make ice, the alarm on the door is broken, and the plastic crisper cracked and now will not stay in. I have owned the dishwasher for 4 years but use it 6 months of the year and, because I live alone, maybe twice a week. In effect, it has the equivalent of less than a year of normal use. My problem is the same as countless other people. I can tell from how it behaves that it needs a new control board. I find little comfort in the fact that I one of several thousand people experiencing a problem with a newer Maytag appliance. What concerns me, after reading many negative reviews and seeing Maytags response, is that Maytag does not seem to care. We need to get the word out. We need a massive boycott of Maytag. We need to hit them where it hurts: in their bottom line. Since they seem to be content to continue to put out defective products, the only way to protect consumers is to put Maytag out of business.

Like so many others, I now discover, we are having a ridiculously frustrating problem with our Maytag dishwasher, bought one and a half years ago. Last week, the control panel stopped working -- we press normal and a whole bunch of other lights come on; try to press other cleaning options and entirely different ones light up again. Sometimes we can get it, with luck, to quick wash or super clean and thus have our dishes cleaned (which the machine never did that effectively anyway); sometimes we cant. I havent called the company yet, but given what Ive read, Im unsure if it would do any good. Judging from all the similar comments, Maytag is clearly selling a radically inferior product and care nothing much about this. We will surely never, ever buy another one of their products.

Shame on Maytag! Customer Service is appalling! Paid 2500 for one of their top of the line refrigerator/freezer and had the repair people 5 times in one year. It was determined that it is a bad model number that Maytag wont recall but knows it is faulty. Started with ice build up in freezer making it sound like a plane taking off. It kept running trying to defrost (energy efficient-right). The repairman put in a request to have the product replaced based on symptoms and freezer being at 26 degrees. We had to wait five business days for Maytag to review it. I have a family and was having guests. They told me to buy a dorm refrigerator and they would send me a small credit towards it in 4 to 6 weeks. They finally agreed to replace the known faulty model, but I have to wait for the exchange team to contact me (2 weeks later). I keep calling and leaving messages but cant get the exchange team to even return my calls. I have my sons graduation this weekend and I dont have a freezer and my refrigerator is faulty with all my vegetables rotting within two days. It also took two days to originally get someone in management to call me back (even though it did no good - she cant help me). You cannot talk to management if you call customer service. They downright refuse! What a company!

The washer vibrates so violently that I had to block it between the dryer and wall to keep it from walking across the floor during the spin cycle. We had a technician come out, and he stated that the unit just needed to be balanced. The level I used showed the washer balanced in all 4 directions. Then he said I had to balance it with the machine running to stop the vibration. That didnt work either. I had previously installed vibration dampers and the technician told me that makes the vibration worse. When is someone going to file another class action lawsuit against Maytag, as there appears to be thousands of complaints for this same washer?

My stove is approximately nine years old. During the past year both my husband and I enjoy cooking from recipes 3-4 times a week thus the stove has become essential. Functionality and size is important when trying to cook meals with two or three components. One of the oven racks was missing from the oven when we moved into the house. Even though it is self cleaning, spills pile up between cleanings so it is great that it has a really cool steam cleaning option. Just wish it were 5-6 years newer.

I have been using the Whirlpool Microwave oven to heat foods (all in microwave safe) containers and dishes. This morning, I was heating a muffin, when suddenly I hear popping. When I looked through the glass into the inside of the microwave I saw sparks then flames. I immediately stopped the microwave. The fire apparently started in the area of one clip that holds the metal rack inside. In researching this issue online, I found hundreds of complaints from people who have experienced the same issue, and Whirlpool refused to replace the unit because it is out of warranty.

I wanted a basic washer with Hot/Warm/Cold settings, Delicate/Normal/Heavy Duty cycles, Small/Medium/Large loads. I paid over $800 for this washer and I cannot wash my whites or rags in hot water! The hot water setting dispenses hot water, then cold water, back and forth. The end result is cool water. Ive called Maytag, Ive been told that there is nothing that can be done about it, thats how theyre made to be considered HE. I asked them why they even put a hot or warm water setting on the washer.You have no control over the water level, all cycles except for normal run in a deep water setting (full drum of water), I dont know why delicates are in a deep water setting. I only wash a couple pieces of delicates together. I end up using a lot more water and detergent with this washer. I hope we dont have to conserve water in the next few years! So though this washer uses less hot water energy, it wastes a lot of water, my water bill goes up and my detergent is used up much quicker! I cannot add time to my wash cycle, (the actual washing/agitation cycle is very short - 10 minutes) it has to drain all of the water and re-start the cycle with more water! $800 is a lot of money for a washer that doesnt wash like my old cheap washer. The local store cant do anything about it and Maytag brushed me off.

We purchased the HE commercial brand for our family of 7. It has been running mostly fine for about 2 1/2 years. It started making a horrible grinding noise about 3 months ago. It was getting worse and worse. I decided to google the issue and discovered there was a common problem with a nut falling off the bottom. I leaned the washer back and found the nut on the floor, right below the center of the pulley. I reattached it by removing the pulley guard which had been getting cut by the loose and wobbly pulley, put some superglue on the nut and reattached it to the bottom. NO MORE NOISE!! Im willing to bet that this has caused slippage of the pulley, poor performance and many other issues. Maytag should do something about it.

We purchased a new Maytag Bravos X washer and dryer from Lowes in June of 2013. After a year and a half of normal use (2 people in the household) the washer needs a new gearbox bearing at a repair cost of $529.00. I called Maytag and spoke to a customer service representative who informed me that there was nothing they could do about it because it was past the one year warranty. I asked to speak with a supervisor who told me they would offer me a 50% discount on the bearing but would not pay for the repair work (the cost of the bearing is approximately $25).Needless to say I will not be having the washer repaired. We will be purchasing a new washer and it WILL NOT be a Maytag, Whirlpool or any other brand made by that company. Its just appalling to think a company like Maytag can scam customers the way they do by producing appliances that are of such poor quality and then offer third rate customer service on top of it. Maytags answer to the whole issue is selling everyone an extended warranty which we all know is as bogus as the companys integrity!!!

I see that this problem is going to repeat over and over again for the life of this unit, because of a poor design.The design fix will be to add a small heater (at the location where the ice creates the clog) actuated periodically by the control board, or at least with a manual push button for the user can easily remove press the button to melt the ice clogging the pipe. This is a cheap design which did not go through design validation and qualification.

I purchased a Maytag Bravo Washer in October of 2011, I had a repair man come to check it since the spin cycle sounds like a jet is revving its engines in the laundry room. He told me that the repair cost is $493.50 to replace the transmission. The machine also has problems with the circuit board. The lid lock goes on and off and on and off so you cannot run the machine. Speaking to Maytag they just kept saying your warranty is over and we dont offer any assistance on the repairs. The machine cost $530.00 in 2011 and they think its reasonable to have repairs more than the cost of a new washer. They said they had no complaints on the model. My repairman advised not to buy Bravo, Cabrio or Calypso models since they all have the same problem with the transmission and electronics. I think they should at least pay for the parts, the transmission is $300. And we didnt even price the electronic part of repair.

This has been the worst washing machine I have ever owned!!! Purchased 3 years ago and this is the 3rd time the bearings dont work again. It make loud clanking noises. Then fails to spin at all. The first time it broke was the 1st year we owned it. It is sitting in our hallway and I can hardly wait for it to leave my house. Talked to the local appliance dealer and they never recommends these washers. I told dealer I must have gotten a lemon. He replied that it wasnt a lemon, that the machine tubs have gotten so much bigger and they have needed to upgrade the bearing system and are unwilling to do it. Dealer has highly recommended the Speed Queen. Based on the stellar reviews that is what will be coming to our house today. I can hardly wait. I know, its just a washing machine but frustration has overcome me. The Speed Queen has no plastic parts. We went with the knob style as opposed to the electronic push buttons. Less to go wrong. The warranty on the Speed Queen is top of the line, 5-year parts and labor. The salesperson didnt even try to sell me a warranty. No need to. Speed Queen stands by their product. I only recommend the Maytag Bravo XL if you dont have enough stress in your life.

I called two different repair companies, and were told by both they would save me the call out charge, because the ball bearings were going out, and it would cost between $ 600-$700 to fix, so I may as well buy a new one. The washer is only 6 years old. This is completely unacceptable! I then tried to find someone online to fix it, and I ran into the fact that the Neptune Washers had a recall. Why was I, not notified? I bought the washer and dryer set from a Maytag store. No one tried to reach me. I am now stuck with the problem of buying a new one, and really cannot afford one at this time. I went with Maytag due to the brand name, and I knew it would be reliable. Is the joke really on me? Can someone please call me, and point me in the right direction?

This month, July 2015, we had to have the refrigerator repaired for another $293. The problem with the refrigerator the repairman told us is the control board (p/n W10503278). He stated that they didnt make the first board very well and hes been replacing this part quite frequently for customers. I only spent $799 on the refrigerator and I already have $446 into it. That is half of what I paid for it! I wouldnt recommend Maytag to anybody!

We purchased a Maytag Bravo Washer and Dryer in late 2007. We had a one-year warranty on the set. At just over 2 years, we started having problems with the washer. It started making a loud noise when spinning and started beeping all the time during the cycles. We contacted Maytag and they said the only thing they could do for us was to sell us an extended/repair warranty for $320.00. If the cost of fixing the machine was too much, they had the option to replace it with another machine equal to the value of the machine in todays market, or cash, or a gift card equal to that.We were angry about the cost of the warranty and we were unemployed at the time and couldnt afford that so we just had to let it go. The machine progressively got worse where only two of the cycles would work, but not without beeping several times where you had to fix the load, and the sound got so loud it sounded like you had a jet plane just overhead. Just the other day it completely quit working. We have been in contact with Maytag several times but their only answer is their repair warranty. Weve talked to numerous appliance repairman, who all knew exactly what was wrong because they have seen it so many times, and they told us that we have several things going wrong with the machine we would probably need a new drum, a new drain pump and a new control board.We were told that it would cost more to just buy the parts than it would be to buy a new machine. In the course of our phone calls to Maytag, they have continually told us that they are sorry but there is nothing they can do, in fact they only have record of two of our calls (how convenient!). Since experiencing the issues with the machine, we have researched it online and found that scores of consumers are dealing with the exact same problems we are having which shows that there are defects in the manufacturing of these machines. Maytag should be forced to fix these problems. They are well aware of them and they should have to back up their products.There should be a class action lawsuit out against them. We were told by an appliance repairman that Whirlpool (who bought out Maytag) has a washer called Cabrio that is the exact same model as the Bravo and that they do have a class action lawsuit out against this model. Consumers that purchased the Bravo should be included in that lawsuit. I am stuck with a broken down washer, mildewing clothes and dont know where to turn outside of paying out the money for the extended warranty with no guarantee of what we would get out of it, purchasing a used set with no guarantee, or putting out the expense for a new set.This set was an expense set and we went with Maytag because they used to have a good reputation, but we feel like we have been totally cheated. If the appliance companies were forced to offer a longer warranty on their products, they would have to manufacture them at a higher standard. For the cost of these new machines this is exactly what we as consumers should expect. Please help us to know which direction to go. Even with purchasing a new machine we are apprehensive!

Maytag Centennial Impeller HE Washing Machine - The seller left this piece of junk for us. I wondered why because it appeared brand new. After the first washing I knew why. I sure regretted leaving my old set behind. This washing machine wont let you add the amount of water you need. I had to add buckets of water and hope it didnt just empty it out because the sensor controls everything. Twice it just emptied it after I closed the lid and it locked. There is an impeller instead of an agitator. It moves slightly but not enough to move the clothes. To top it off the spin cycle tears into the clothing and twists and wrings it so hard everything is wrinkled with soap residue remaining even on delicate. Each load takes over an hour and the clothes arent even clean. It went to the dump after 4 washes. I went on Craigslist and purchased a used Kenmore and am in heaven. No lock, an agitator, 3 water levels, clean clothing, you can open it and add the missing sock, no sensor controlling how you want to do laundry and no more buckets. Dont buy a Maytag. Look at all of the reviews. They arent exaggerating, they are really that bad. Thank you.

My original GE dishwasher that came with our house finally crapped out after about 8 years of use in 2007. Bought a Maytag from Home Depot for around $400. Dont remember the model number. It worked okay but then in the middle of 2010 we got a letter in the mail saying our machine was being recalled because the heating element might catch fire (!!!). The recall gave us the option of getting it fixed or getting a $150 rebate. We chose the rebate option so we trashed this dishwasher and went back to Home Depot to buy another one.We found a very nice Maytag with the stainless steel tub and the racks with the lifetime warranty against corrosion (which was good because our previous Maytag had started to leave rust on our dishes because the plastic on the tips of the rack tines was starting to come off), model #MDBA979AWB1, serial #FY2501885. The one we found was a no-box display model but it had all the accessories with it and still had the factory warranty. We got it for just over $300 and with our rebate applied we were out the door for under $200 including tax. I installed it myself and didnt have any issues for quite some time. My wife and I were both very happy with how clean the dishes got!Now, last night the dishwasher wouldnt start. I checked it out this morning, made sure it had power and was able to get some lights on the control panel to light up but still couldnt get it to start. Looks like Ive been victimized by the control board as most of these complaints have said. I guess I should consider us lucky since ours seems to have lasted longer than the average 18 months to 2 years. Will be contacting Maytag and Home Depot to see what they can do but after reading all these negative reviews Im not hopeful.

All it does is spin and spin and clothes come out as beautifully dirty as they were loaded. If you make the mistake of putting a few extra clothes (machine calls itself a large capacity), clothes bunch up and one has to pull them apart. The bleach dispenser was used as one would use a bleach dispenser. However it is all rusted. I had bought extended warranty from Lowes but Lowes did not honor the warranty saying rust was a cosmetic issue. Yet when Lowes sold the extended warranty, they did not specify cosmetics were not covered. It is not even cosmetic. It simply is cheap enamel paint.I have used 200 dollar wash machines but never have I experienced such a horrible and annoying product. I will try one more time to see if Maytag will help out with the rust issue. If not, I will simply cut my losses and buy a regular cheap machine. Maytag should be ashamed of itself. There was a great Canadian Black Friday sale event special, so we purchased the whole lot at Home Depot thinking we had got a great deal, however back then there were very little reviews on the washers, as they were fairly new. This is the absolute worst washer, I have to pause the washer after the water level that the sensor allows finishes and add at least a bucket more of water to cover the clothes and clean them properly and rinse them twice to make sure the residue from the soap gets washed off (I use HE pods, so not using too much soap). Certainly not what you would expect when you buy a high-end appliance. Im going to replace it, but I cannot even try to recoup any money back, as I couldnt/ wouldnt be able to sell it to anyone knowing that it is just garbage!! You would think that a high-end appliance company like Maytag would admit that this appliance is a mistake and offer the consumers that purchased this junk a credit towards a washer that will do what is expected!! We had it replaced and the repairman warned us that it would probably come off again due to a faulty latching system. In the last six months one of the brackets that holds the upper shelf has broken off and the dishwasher leaks every time we use it.My last cycle leaked so bad that essentially it completely soaked the extra large bath towel we place in front of it and travelled halfway through my kitchen. Not to mention that it never washed dishes well, regardless of what cycle we use, which/how little or much detergent/rinse agent and it does not filter at all, as theres debris all over my dishes and glasses. I am now looking to replace it before like other reviewers a control panel fire occurs. Strongly recommend staying away from this brand.

Purchased Maytag dishwasher two years ago from Home Depot. It worked for about six months before it would stop working. When adding a dish after initial start would cause the unit to just die. After unplugging unit for a day the start/cancel drain buttons will flash. After reading online about a demo mode have tried and gotten it to work periodically. I continue to read online and have found there is a diagnostic mode. The settings are in a schematic packed with the unit. I found mine written in French (part #W10321879A). I called Maytag/Whirlpool and asked for the English version. They could not and would not provide me with part #W10321878A the English version, a single sheet of paper. They will only provide to a licensed repair technician. I am only asking for what should have been included in the original purchase. I paid $850 for a dishwasher that is not chump change. I know the control panel is bad but I would like to use it until the new part arrives. I think I may return the control panel and take my losses and go buy a brand that is not owned by Cesspool (Whirlpool).

I purchased this machine (Maytag Bravos XL MVWX700XL2 ) about 18 months ago. I was so excited with the looks and the reviews I found on the machine at that time. For the first 14 months I was happy. All of a sudden, it has become the washer from Hades! It twists and almost ruins my clothing. Not to mention, I think it is permanent wrinkles that it puts into things. I washed our comforter on Bulky. The part that must have been at the bottom is completely wrinkled and it also wrecked all of the fill. This was a comforter that it is supposed to be fine to put in the washer. I am attaching pictures in which you can almost plainly see where the comforter was at the bottom. I had a serviceman out a few weeks ago. He said Maytag knows that there is a problem, however, there is no service bulletin that is out yet on it. In addition, he ran all of the codes and told me there is nothing wrong with my machine. That must be why I have to iron almost every piece of clothing in this house. Maytag will hopefully give me decent customer service on this, or I will come unglued. For the price of this washing machine, I expected much more.

So we bought the whole Maytag kitchen appliance FZ (fingerprint resistant) series suite. That was such a mistake! Id give the part numbers but I think this applies to Maytag in general as it sounds like all of their appliances suck. Ours are 1½ year old and I already want new ones. Over $3,600 for junk. We knew it was no Viking or Sub Zero but didnt expect to flush $4k down the toilet either.The microwave is an over the range type and we have it vented to the outside of the house. The vent works like crap to remove the steam when you have a large pot of water boiling on the stove top. I can put the fan on high and barely any steam goes up the vent, most of it ends up soaking the microwave door to the point where I have to towel it off. The vent will hold up a paper towel so I know its pulling air but the location of the vent in relationship to the large front burners makes it useless. And the self cleaning is as others have already stated - A joke.We bought the fingerprint resistant SS and I would rather have the fingerprints than all of the scratches. Today, and this is no BS, I had a lottery ticket on the fridge under a magnet and I pulled the ticket because I wanted to check the numbers, well I slid the paper about 4 inches while it was still on the fridge under the magnet and now we have these fine scratches everywhere I did this. It wasnt the magnet because it has a felt backer on it, I took the paper off and slid the magnet all over the place, no scratching. I cant believe a piece of paper would even leave a mark at all. This is aside from some larger scratches that someone in the house must have used a feather duster on it or something.The French door fridge is loud and the ice maker is huge! The slide out basket in the freezer always gets co*ckeyed and stuck like its coming off the track. To line up the door tops you have to adjust the feet on the bottom of the fridge. I have to put ours out of level to get the door tops to line up, well this makes it look terrible in the cabinet space so you have to make a choice of what is uglier - thats just bad engineering. Our old fridge (GE) you could adjust the doors right on the bottom of the door. Its like they forgot this and said, Well you can just tip it one way or another to get them to line up, ya lets put that in the manual. The dishwasher sucks, plan on rinsing everything, even the silverware doesnt come clean. No its not our water.We are so disappointed in this brand which used to be considered very good, what the heck happened? Ship manufacturing over to China? And another thing, I highly doubt this is stainless steel. I know there is ferritic and martensitic stainless that are magnetic but Id bet all of my appliances that this is just regular carbon sheet steel with some coating on it to give a stainless steel look. All except for the range, that is different and doesnt scratch like the fridge, microwave, and dishwasher. Its control panel was never great, but now my dishwasher wont work at all. Apparently, the tiny inside the control panel rust away because they arent sealed.

We have purchased the most expensive laundry products, washed and rewashed clothes and have no other recourse but to buy new machines again. We will not be purchasing Maytag or Whirlpool. Product number MMV4205DS. Beautiful, felt solid. Right away when we would put in a time to cook and hit start, the thing would say Open Close Door. First we thought it was moisture, and we would wipe the seal, then lifting the door a little helped. A month might go by and we would repeat this process. I did a little research and found the microwave is known for this. After the warranty was up, it got worse. My husband put a little screwdriver in the door clamp. The plastic guard that held the door shut fell behind the opening. Mulling over whether to call for repairs or buy a new one, we decided the latter. I am buying another one just like it, because the holes in the wall will match for an easy swap and it matches my suite. This time I took out the 3 year warranty, which I will hold Maytag responsible for any more problems. They say if they come and fix it 4 times in a year they will declare it a lemon and replace. I figure this will work in my favor because the microwave lasts a year!

The washer drum fills up with very little water, very little. I can do an entire load of laundry and the stuff on top doesnt ever get wet. Went on Spring Break in Florida and a month later our clothes still smell like the beach. Grill out, and I smell steaks the next time I put on the shirt. Stain your clothes in any way, its there forever unless you hand wash it first.To get it to work at all, each time I have to start the wash cycle (I leave the soap out just to save it for the next start), let the drum fill with water, pause it, get all the clothes wet, then cancel the cycle. After it drains and the machine is off and full of wet clothes, then start it all over again adding soap this time. On the second try, set at deep cycle, it will add enough water to cover the clothes - Im guessing because it senses more clothes because the clothes are now wet from the first, cancelled cycle. During the wash cycle, Ill open the lid and robustly move everything around, almost hand washing. #Handy. The dryer is fine, Im keeping it. The washer, cant return it - been three months of this frustration (kept believing it was me, reset it multiple times, change the settings, tried everything). Im buying a new one and throwing this junk out. $700 lesson.

Cost: $180. DO NOT BUY MAYTAG, N.E.W. (Asurion Co.) warranties or Home Depot appliances! This is text book deceptive advertising. At no time did Home Depot associates in Kitchen and Bath departments say that this common design flaw existed and that it was not covered under the N.E.W. Asurion warranty which cost me an an additional $150.00! I am interested in joining a class action lawsuit against Home Depot and Asurion Co (N.E.W.) warranties.

Dryer wont dry/ service at dead end. So in 2018 we purchased a Maytag Bravos washer/dryer set. The washer does its job, it washes clothes acceptably. The dryer, which has the sole purpose of drying clothes, DOES NOT dry clothes. It leaves each and every load damp. Two to three cycles are required for even the lightest fabrics to dry. This has been the case since the product was new. After repeated attempts to have the dryer replaced, I am fed up with the whole run around. MORAL OF THE STORY IS DO NOT BUY MAYTAG.

Had a problem with the control circuit board on my 6 year old refrigerator. Had it serviced and found that the problem was common, the main circuit board needed to be replaced. The service person advised me it wasnt currently available from his supplier. I call Maytag and they said it was back ordered from their parts source. When asked for an availability date, I was told the date was unknown? I started a search for the circuit board and found it was indeed a problem for many many other consumers who owned this model refrigerator. Lesson learned: Maytag is no longer a good brand to own.

I purchased this on sale at Home Depot, 1 year later this washer top load doesnt clean clothes if the cycle does finish at all. I have to restart the cycle, re-rinse etc, theyre still dirty. I dont have time for that, I have four children and my husband works in construction and comes home with filthy clothes that are just wet and dirty when they come out of this washer. I dont usually write reviews but I hope I can save someone else the hassle. I wish I would have read the reviews beforehand, they all complain of the same thing. This washer altogether is BAD! ITS LOUD, it bangs around if I dont put in the tiniest loads, even then, they come out dirty. Dont waste your time.

This machine is awful and a waste of money. Don’t trust the reviews with “workarounds.” That’s crazy! Doing laundry is difficult enough in my house so I need to add extra work? And they don’t work anyway. Water is barely 1-2 inches deep. But the real issue is the clothes don’t come out clean. Of course, they smell clean because all the soap hasn’t rinsed out but they are not. I spilled coffee on a white tee. Dabbed it up with a wet napkin. Threw it in the laundry. Did whites and added extra bleach and extra water because I know how much this machine sucks. Not only are my clothes yellow but the coffee stain is still there. I can’t imagine how it will wash tough stains like blood and wine and grease. I cannot even believe they are allowed to rip people off with this product.

He recommended that we buy a different machine since the part does not hold up since the part is made out of a plastic fiber material that does not show up. We purchased a high capacity washer (MVWB835DW), along with the matching dryer, two years ago from Lowes. This review is not about Lowes. They did the best they could to make things right. The review is about the Maytag washer (made and serviced by WhirIpool). It has been nothing short of a debacle. The first two washers did not work and had to be replaced. The third and current washer has been repaired three times, including the drum and motor. We have been without the use of the washer for over a week each time while waiting for parts and Whirlpool to approve the repair. The washer is not high capacity as advertised. Filling the drum even half way results in the washer stopping mid cycle whereupon we have to adjust the contents back into balance. In addition, the machine leaves a lint residue on dark clothing that has to be wiped off by hand. We have asked Maytag/Whirlpool to replace the machine but they say it has to fail for the same issue four times in order to qualify for replacement. We are done and will purchase another washer from a different manufacturer. It’s easy to understand why Samsung and LG have become such a dominate force in the laundry sector. Whirlpool/Maytag does not care about you or the problems with their product. Buyer beware!

Before putting clothes in dryer you have to untangle them. Sweaters and even t-shirts become stretched beyond help. Clothes smell like mildew if you leave them in the washer even just a couple of hours. Im 50 and had a few washer/dryers and these take the cake. Ive used the washing machine cleaner/refresher (something I have never done on washers in the past) and still a mildew smell. The dryer has lint on both sides of the lint screen. And as stated before if you dont untangle your clothes they come out in a big knot, partially un-dried & very wrinkled. The lint on both sides of the screen concern me - Ive never had a dryer do that before. Its not much lint on one side but enough to think something is not right.

I moved laundry into the dryer and started it. While I was loading the washer, suddenly I heard a popping sound from the dryer and smelled smoke. Scared me looking into it. Sounds like either our electrical cord or our heating element blew. Coming from an era (born in the 1970s) where appliances should last at least 20 years, I am disappointed with Maytag. Most loads require a second rinse cycle and then perhaps not a good job on the clothes. We have had it repaired twice as it makes a god awful noise and does not do a wash cycle. I believe the repairman has replaced plastic pulleys both times and now it needs the repair job done again. High efficiency has led to high disappointment. We will be looking at getting an older style agitator model as we know they work! Maytag will have to pay us to buy anymore of their products, not impressed at all.

Since the day the Neptune washer and dryer were installed, the washer has given me nothing but problems. It vibrates so badly and dances all over the floor.I have had the repairman over at least seven times and, now, it is out of warranty so I am spending my own money. The last service man was from Hurst Appliances in Regina, SK. He removed the pedestal to see if this might be the problem. He also sold me some foot pads for $50 that he said might help the problem. However the machine is still vibrating and the terrible mold smell comes out of it as well. I am thoroughly disappointed in this product. I will never buy another Maytag product and tell my friends not to as well.

It is so frustrating as well as extremely dangerous! Both my younger kids have slipped and fell because of the slippery floor. I am actually washing my white uniform with hands because each time I wash, dark sc*ms remain on my clothes. I think that the machine sensor does not sense how much clothes are in there and how much water is required. This machine is very disappointing, it needs to be recalled. See pictures below.
