Every October the West Side Nut Club organizes and sponsors a mammoth Fall Festival in Evansville, IN. This is a week-long gala on the west side along Franklin Street with free entertainment, carnival attractions, over 137 food booths, amateur talent competitions and on the last day, a huge parade. This event attracts over 200,000 people to the West Side & is considered to be one of the largest street festivals in the United States.
Though Mardi Gras in New Orleans is the largest street fair in the US, fewer people know where the SECOND largest is. The location of the second largest may surprise you: Evansville, Indiana!
Carnival, Rio de Janeiro of Brazil, famous for colorful parades and surging energy, holds the title of the biggest festival in the world, followed by Oktoberfest (Germany), Diwali (India) and Mardi Gras (USA).
The Marion Bay site is clustered into various precincts – the Main Arena, the Village and Markets strip and the Field Stage. Camping zones are separate from the entertainment. Approximately 13,000 people attend the event, with almost 100% of them camping on-site, in unpowered car-camping tent sites.
The Carnival of Rio de Janeiro is among the world's largest and most vibrant festivals, attracting millions to the streets for its iconic parades, samba music, and elaborate costumes. It's a celebration of Brazilian culture and joy, featuring the renowned Samba Parade and numerous street parties and cultural events.
Continually bringing in upwards of 100,000 attendees, the festival's success cannot be overlooked. Volunteers, festivalgoers and sponsors of the Duluth Fall Festival are united by their pride in their city.
