Jailbirds captured the hearts of Netflix viewers with an in-depth look into the inner workings of the Sacramento County Jail, and a wild cliffhanger after its release on May 10. The good news, for fans looking for real time updates, is with the reality show format, life is sure to carry on for each of the inmates, from those still behind bars to those who were released with hope for a better life. While it's difficult to know what's really going on in the prison while cameras aren't filming, here's what we know about the former inmates who were released by the end of the first season.
Monster
Monster, real name Megan Hawkins, was arrested last week for trying to open a bank account with a different identity, according to CBS. Hawkins was released during Season 1 with hopes of calling her mom to help her with money. She explained she didn't want to return to a life of crime, or associate herself with anyone from her past.
The kicker of Hawkins' arrest is her attempted crime was only noticed because the bank teller had previously watched Jailbirds. "She has some pretty identifiable tattoos so they recognized her automatically," Jason Jimenez an Elk Grove officer, explained to CBS Sacramento.
After the teller recognized Hawkins she left the bank, and was found in a stollen car. She was ultimately charged with "possession of a stolen vehicle, unlawful use of personal identifying information and violation probation," according to People.
Hawkins is back in the Sacramento County Jail, where Jailbirds was filmed. She's not admitting guilt, though. "Because I'm on the Netflix documentary I feel like it's like the perfect opportunity for them to like really slap the book at me," Hawkins told CBS. "And that's like what I'm nervous about."
Baby Girl
That jailbirds cliffhanger left viewers in shock of how much Baby Girl's, or Rebecca Temme's, relationship with her sister had changed. Not much has changed for Temme inside prison, though, as she's been officially convicted of the murder of her wife, according to CBS Sacramento. Temme, as well as her co-defendant, are facing a sentence of life in prison with out parole. They'll be sentenced at the end of June. Temme also has an added charge of "possession of a weapon by a prisoner," according to Baller Alert.
Yasmin
Yasmin Sundermeyer is still in prison, though she's now booked for "escape from custody," according to Baller Alert.
Katrina and Dolla
Both Katrina Haslam and Dolla, or Daniel Carter, are still outside of prison and have been active on social media. Though they were seen outside of prison together on Jailbirds, the fate of their relationship is unclear. The pair don't seem to follow each other on Instagram, which may or may not be telling of if they're still together.
Jay
There's no news from Jay, real name Courtney Koranda, which seems to imply she's not back in the Sacramento prison.
Other, unlisted cast members are still in the Sacramento prison.
