As much as I want to breast feed I won’t be able to do it. Given the chances that I will be on a medication after birth. For some reason my body develops an allergic reaction rash that covers just about my whole body. The meds they put me on I was told are not safe with breastfeeding. Even if they are wrong, I don’t want to chance it.
Anyway, how are you preparing for baby’s arrival? Are you buying formula ahead of time or just collecting the samples to see which one baby will tolerate?

I wouldn’t buy too much ahead of time incase your baby has problems with the formula you start with. My first son went through 4/5 different kinds before we found one that didn’t make him projectile commit.

I had some samples on hand with our first and the hospital gave us the option of using formula to supplement with while in the hospital. It doesn’t hurt to have some on hand.

We have two tins of Kendamil and are just hoping for the best. If baby doesn’t like it so be it we’ll try something new

@sanrihoe,
I’ve seen that brand but haven’t heard of anyone trying it. Please let me know how baby does with it!

I chose to formula feed from the start and it was the best decision for us. My son absolutely thrived off of kendamil. I did a lot of research beforehand on brands and health of different brands and kendamil won out for us by far. Obviously you go with what you are comfortable with but I did stock up on a few cans, 4-5, for this baby girl. If this is your first and you aren’t sure what will work for you yet, samples may be a good option. Good thing is there isn’t much of a shortage these days so having to run out and buy some isn’t as hard as it used to be!

@Kerrysimm,
I’ve seen that brand but hadn’t heard of anyone trying it. What made you decide on that one?
I would’ve loved to just use the one my first born loved but unfortunately with the previous shortage, they stopped making it.

@Junie2015,
it is a European brand which tend to have better quality standards. The cows are grassfed and they use whole milk fats without palm oils or other unnecessary added oils. It has plant based DHA, vitamins and minerals and is also formulated to be structured similarly to human milk. My son loved and it and absolutely thrived so I trust it enough to use it again. They have an organic formula and a goats milk formula for more sensitive bellies.

Do not stock up!!! We went through like 3 or 4 formulas before we found one that worked for our daughter. Just buy a small can of something you’re interested in and see how it goes.

I have about a month's worth of formula stored in my pantry. This is our 5th baby and they've all been on the same formula with no issue. If he would for some reason, my Target where I got them from will let me exchange for another type.
