Living room decorated for spring

1. The living room & hallway

I did some very simple things in my living room for spring. I placed an olive tree next to my fireplace.

I wanted to tie in some black material because I have a lot of black accents throughout my home, like the clock and black candlesticks with battery-operated candles on the mantel.

Hall tree

I did a little decor on top of my hall tree which I do every season. I stacked a few books and topped them with a faux plant. I put a photo of a landscape next to that and more black candlesticks to tie in with those black accents.

I have a small gallery wall with photos of my husband plus art from Hobby Lobby, which are staggered to give the wall some dimension.

Here I put a large arrangement on the table, some boxes that look like books (from Hobby Lobby) stacked and topped with a faux plant in a ribbed vase. Candlesticks and a larger candle fill out the top. To keep it simple, I put a record player on the second shelf of the console table.

Coffee table

We have a faux leather couch, two love seats, and an oversized coffee table here. On the coffee table, I added a basket, a distressed vase with lifelike florals, and a couple of magazines.

Sofas

I went with a light, fresh feel on the couches, keeping with those ivories, creams, and green pillow covers. I was able to get covers from Amazon and other large pillows from Target.

We have a little accent wall with a bench that I also like to style with pillows and magazines. For spring, I added a little fern wreath on a hook.

Centerpiece

A large thrifted basket is filled with another vase from Hobby Lobby filled with faux variegated greenery stems. It’s part of my “less is more” concept in decorating.

Hutch decor

I style my hutch every single season. I like to keep very basic things in there but I do use this for decorative pieces, not so much for functionality–meaning I do not keep dishes in there.

On the inside, I have some faux plants and thrifted books, but it’s all very cohesive and flows together. I strive to do that every season.

3. The kitchen

This room is also extremely simple. I have a small galley-style kitchen, so we are very particular about the items we bring in. We need all the space we can to prep and cook our meals.
