Teaching Essential Skills for a Lifetime

Through “learning by earning,” Girl Scouting aims to empower girls through the development of five essential skills: goal set- ting, money management, people skills, decision making, and business ethics.

The Girl Scouts now sell an astounding ​200 million boxes​ every year. (Incredible when you consider there are only ​258 million​ American adults!) The high price point (​$5 – $7 box​) translates into over ​a billion dollars per year​ (more than Oreo makes in the US!)

After paying the bakers, the net proceeds from Girl Scout Cookie sales are retained by the originating council and troop to power amazing experiences for Girl Scouts and impactful girl-led community projects.
