Adobo seasoning is our go-to spice. If we're grilling the majority of the time we ONLY use adobo seasoning as a dry rub. It's great to use and it just adds so much flavor to meats. Also, it's delicate enough that if you want to add a sauce, most of the time, it won't overpower the flavor. The primary seasoning of adobo is usually salt. Then all the spices, not to mention, aromatics from garlic and onion add the flavor. The fun color is from the turmeric. We make a spicy adobo by adding cayenne pepper.

This is an all-purpose seasoning and can be used for anything from pork, chicken, beef, and even fish. Heck, you could even add it to veggies and soups. Just get creative and have fun when cooking.

Great to use and full of flavor!!!

Any time you want a really flavorful dish use adobo seasoning. It's just a few ingredients and you can have your own homemade version of this great seasoning. The best part, you can control how mild or spicy the seasoning mixture is and how much salt is added.

As I mentioned, adobo seasoning is really really easy to make!!! More than likely you already have all the spices needed. The basis of the seasoning is salt (we use sea salt) garlic, onion powder, and oregano. There are a wide variety of blends that make up adobo seasoning, so have fun with it.

How to make Adobo Seasoning

The best part of making a homemade spice blend is it will be less expensive and you know exactly what is in the seasoning mix. Many of the store-bought blends will have a large amount of salt, artificial flavorings, and other fillers that are not needed.

Adobo seasoning is a Latin/Mexican seasoning blend made with a combination of salt, garlic, and other savory spices. It adds so much great flavor to dishes. The seasoning can be used as a dry rub or wet marinade. To use it as a marinade, add in some orange juice, lime juice, or vinegar depending on what you're making.

So, more than likely you already have all the spices to make this in your spice drawer.
